History of ILV
1995
ILV, a company originally based in Germany, was established by engineer Miloš Fürst in Fürstenfeldbruck as a little one-person company. ILV first imported unmounted printed circuit boards. In the course of time, the company launched complex production, which included mounting of active and passive components and assembling.
Mr. Fürst started his enterprise at the beginning of 1995 as a self-employed person; following a successful start, he employed his long-standing experience, and in December of the same year he established a company called ILV GmbH registered in Friesing. The company produced electronics in cooperation with Czech companies; at the beginning the company only took orders from German customers.
1997
At the beginning of 1997, ILV GmbH moved to new rented premises in a detached family house in Marzling. In the same year, Miloš Fürst became a co-owner of the Letel s.r.o. company specializing in mounting printed circuit boards in Přeštice. ILV GmbH continued developing due to its new business activities.
2000
Unfortunately, partners of the Czech company in Přeštice prevented its further development and because of their pointless terms and conditions Miloš Fürst was forced to involuntarily leave the company about 2000.
Since the number of orders kept growing, the German company of ILV GmbH decided to build its own plant where it would be able to install the latest production and quality control technologies.
2001
After the involuntary departure from Letel s.r.o., Miloš Fürst was forced to fulfill orders of the ILV GmbH company by means of cooperation with numerous Czech electronics producers. Therefore, in the mid-2001, he established a subsidiary in the Czech Republic; the company is called ILV s.r.o. and it specializes in electronics production, quality control, development activities in the field of electronics and also assembling and tuning high-frequency antenna filters. The company’s production dimensioned to employ more than a 100 people was launched in a newly renovated building of a former army kitchen in February 2002 in Příchovice by Přeštice.
2002
The parent company of ILV GmbH entered a new phase of its history. It opened a new subsidiary called ILV s.r.o.; the subsidiary currently employs 75 people. The holding acquired new production premises with a sufficient assembly capacity. At the same time the company purchased new production technologies and commissioned the first semi-automatic SMD line.
2005
Most employees worked in this newly built company in the department of high-frequency filter assembling and tuning where the number of orders was so high that a two-shift operation had to be introduced. Since electronics production kept growing concurrently, it was necessary to extend the warehouse. That was why an annex adjoining the existing warehouse was built in order to extend the storage capacity. At the same time, the company acquired some new technologies. The company ranked among the first ones to start using lead-free soldering in protective nitrogen atmosphere.
2006
The company became renowned among its customers not only because of high quality of production processes, but also due to good results in solving development tasks specified by customers. That was the reason why Miloš Fürst decided to establish his own development department.
Following that, the construction of a research and development centre on the premises of ILV s.r.o. started; the centre was completed and put into operation in 2006. This new centre provided our engineers with sufficient space to fulfill their tasks
2007
Mr. and Mrs. Fürst purchase a plot for the construction of a new logistic centre of the ILV GmbH in Wang, in the industrial zone of the town of Moosburg in a strategic site near the Munich airport, right by an exit from the A92 highway.
2008
In August 2008 ILV GmbH moved over from Marzling to a new operations hall in Wang. The new company premises spreading on more than 700 sq m, with plentiful office and storage space, made it easier to coordinate material purchases and to flexibly control and supply the subsidiary in the Czech Republic. It also gave us an opportunity to store customers’ products, to make sufficient reserves of raw material and to supply it to the subsidiary very promptly. At the end of 200,8 the impact of the economic crisis became apparent, which resulted in significant reduction of customer’s orders in the field of development, and therefore, the company decided to close down its development centre. This does not mean that the company stopped providing services in the field of research and development, but ILV has used external experts.
2010
Since large-scale reorganization of production processes in 2009, the economic situation of the company kept growing and the number of its customers increased. The growth was so significant that ILV s.r.o. needed to extend its warehouse capacity. That was why a “metal” warehouse was built at the beginning of 2010 and it was used for several years. At the same time the company started preparing a new capex project to extend the storage and production capacity of its existing hall. The project was intended to eliminate problems with the lack of storage space and insufficient room for the production of SMD components.
2013
Construction works started in 2013 and at the end of that year, a trial operation was launched in new premises. At the beginning of 2014 the building was officially approved for use, and the company could start using the new production hall for surface mounting and for storing packaging materials.
2015
In 2014 and 2015 the production grew again and new technologies had to be purchased in order to fulfill a higher number of customer’s orders. The company purchased new equipment, which increased its production capacity in the field of surface mounting.
2016
The development was apparent also at the beginning of 2016 up until 26th February 2016 when a tragic event, which significantly influenced the operation of the whole company, occurred. A stock of lithium batteries ignited spontaneously and the resulting fire completely destroyed the raw material warehouse and seriously damaged the adjoining buildings, specifically the packing material warehouse, the technical inspection offices, the reception room and dispatch of completed boards and partly also the surface mounting production hall. The scope of damage was huge and only because of a decision of the owner Mr. Miloš Fürst the company managed to launch and subsequently complete the process of renovation of the Czech ILV s.r.o. company whose existence and supplies are vitally important for the operation of the German parent company of ILV GmbH.
The owner employed his broad experience and presented a renovation plan for the premises destroyed or damaged by the fire. During the interim period, thanks to the help and devotion of employees, with the use of a nearby and recently renovated former joiner’s shop owned by Mr. Fürst, the production was gradually revived.
Thanks to loans from the parent company and a fair attitude of the Firefighting Insurance Company, our production gradually returned to normal. In spite of incomprehensible and unpardonable problems caused by the Building Authority in Přeštice, the renovated premises were approved for use in October 2016 and gradually equipped with the most modern warehouse, production and testing technologies. Because of that, the production and storing capacity of the company was increased.
2018
During 2017 and 2018 the warehouse technologies underwent a significant upgrade. Special fireproof cabinets and drying cabinets for storing moisture sensitive devices were purchased. Everything has been controlled by the enterprise resource planning system called Timeline since then.
The company continued investing in a third SMD line which has been primarily used for the production of prototypes and samples and for soldering in vacuum atmosphere. At the same time, the company purchased a new selective soldering device which can operate in both inline as well as offline mode.
2019
The SMD department acquired a new 3D Automatic Optical Inspection that improved the inspection of all surface mounted devices. Since the equipment has proven very useful, another 3D Automatic Optical Inspection with side cameras was purchased during that year. This made more accurate inspection of special devices possible and brought higher quality of products to customers.
2020
This year was influenced by the COVID 19 pandemic. Fortunately, the electronics production was not affected as much as other fields. And, there was another reason why the pandemic situation did not have such an impact on our company – it was the timely purchase of a sufficient stock of raw materials by the parent company of ILV GmbH. In order to increase the capacity in coating of printed circuit boards, we had to extend the existing coating workshop and purchase a new coating machine Asymtek SL940. Due to the need to increase the capacity of painting printed circuit boards (PCBs), it was necessary to rebuild and modernize the existing paint shop, where we now have an automatic selective painting machine Asymtek SL 940 from Nordson and a capacity of 30m² for drying painted PCBs. Currently we are able to varnish boards with dimensions of 500x400mm and height of components up to 100mm.
2021
At the turn of 2020 and 2021, a new dishwasher for ultrasonic stencil cleaning and X-ray component computer from VisiConsult were acquired, which provides us with online information about all items in stock. Thanks to new warehouse technologies, Essegi’s smart table for storing components was also launched. New professional tables were purchased for the testing and quality control department. These are tables from ELABO, which allow a wide range of testing and interconnection thanks to the assembled power supplies and selected connectors. At the end of the year, a new Cougar EVO X-ray was purchased from the manufacturer YXLON, the device is capable of x-ray samples up to 440×550mm in size. The device also allows 3D laminography. At the same time, the older workbenches in THT production were replaced with modern, ergonomic, completely ESD workbenches with LED lighting from Viking.
2022
In the spring of 2022, the implementation of the expansion of warehouse space began, including the purchase of new warehouse technology pater noster Shuttle XP500 from Bellheimer Metallwerk GmbH – Kardex, drying furnaces of electronic components Sahara Dray with forced ventilation (from 40°C to 280°C) and humidity control from Iteco or equipment for vacuum packaging of components and PCB TOTECH SDV46.
Another innovation in the production area was the installation of a new air humidification technology in the SMD department and the purchase of an ASYS VIDISIO 2000 milling cutter for automatic PCB panel cutting.
During the summer months, the boiler room was modernized, including the installation of five heat pumps, which should fully replace the existing system.
Our company currently offers a broad range of services starting with purchase of raw materials and ending with board testing and if required, also customized development.
The aforementioned data show that the company can fulfill customers’ requirements in a range of fields. We offer our customers complex services and at the same time fulfill the strategy of our founder and owner engineer Miloš Fürst, which is summarized in the motto: COMPLETE ELECTRONICS FROM A SINGLE PRODUCER
